a post worth waiting for..?

sorry about the wait. i said i was going to get better at this, and here i am, having postponed my next post by over a week. i even had it written in my planner. *sigh* such is life. better late than never, right? anyhow, i'm sure this will be worth the wait because some exciting things have happened since the last time i filled you in...
*****
first things first. i turned twenty. good bye, teen years and hello to a new decade. it's a bit intimidating. i have definitely been celebrating my "adultness"; i have been coloring pictures in my disney coloring book with certain frequency, and i keep the fridge stocked with lunchables and juice boxes.
*****
another exciting thing that happened recently: daniel and i went back home to see florence + the machine. it was INCREDIBLE. when i think about how brilliant she is it makes me want to cry. i highly recommend seeing her live if you ever get the chance.
*****
and when i got back, i checked the mail and my absentee ballot had come! i was really excited and then i opened it and realized there are a lot of things i need to look into before i fill in those bubbles.. i'll get around to it. probably when i go home for midterm this week (yay!!)

in terms of clubs, spanish club has been dwindling signigicantly. this comes as no surprise to me though. that's usually how it goes. but it's still disappointing since we're really trying to make it exciting. last week we watched tangled in spanish with english subtitles. and before that we played apples to apples in spanish. which, in my opinion, are some of the most exciting things i've ever done in spanish club (in high school or college). we're going to talk to the spanish faculty about offering extra credit for attendance at meetings so maybe we can get our numbers up.

in other news, amnesty is doing very well. in the beginning of november, we're bringing Carissa Phelps to speak, and the week before we're going to be co-sponsoring a human trafficking awareness week with Students for Social Change. it's pretty exciting, and we've got lots of ideas flowing. i'll let you know more once we get things more organized.
*****
the historical society hasn't been too exciting of a thing, but there is going to be a halloween party at the end of this month. i haven't decided if i'm going to go, because i have to have a (at least loosely) historical costume. if anyone has any ideas, please let me know :)
*****
classes have been pretty good, they're not very hard, but i'm pretty sure i've hit the sophomore slump. i run out of motivation pretty fast. hopefully this will change. hopefully midterm break will recharge me.
*****
our bathroom is so ridiculous. our suitemates shed like you wouldn't believe. there's hair everywhere. and our shower somehow became clogged. i'm pretty sure i was standing in an inch of water last night. but i called fix-it, and they got it working again, so that was super exciting. and after the fix-it guy left, one of our suitemates vacuumed the bathroom, which made me even happier because it meant that i did not have to swiffer up their hair.

that's all i have for now. tune in in a few weeks for another enthralling installment!
