i am so good at posting, guys.

alright, so that whole "i'll break everything down into smaller posts so it will be less overwhelming and i'll get it done faster" idea didn't really work out. sorry about that (i feel like i'm always apologizing on this thing..)
anyhow, recap of what i should have posted about:

• it snowed a lot. all we got was one day off, but truman is pretty stingy with snow days. this was only the fourth one ever in truman's history. 
• valentine's day (wow that was a long time ago) was great. we made breakfast for dinner. 
• i went a week with no phone because my old one decided to give up on life. i wish i could say i learned something, but basically i sometimes felt like something was missing and sometimes felt liberated. also, driving all the way home with no phone is one way to make you nervous for a few hours.

so spain. it's slowly taking over my life. i don't like it. i have a three-hour-a-week class every thursday in march and april. six thirty to nine thirty. it's pretty rough to sit there and listen to pites (pronounced PEE-tays, my spanish professor) talk about spain and watch videos from the late 80s about spain. that's all i really have to say about that right now.

amnesty had the hunger banquet last tuesday. not a very big turnout, but considering the fact that we pulled some pieces of it together at the last minute, we did a pretty good job. now we're focusing all our energy on the slut walk, and kate and i are making sure that that is all taken care of/not a last minute affair. because this is really important, especially after what happened in steubenville. and if you don't know about that, you should go peruse the internet and find out about it. or watch this video. because this is absolutely appalling and i could not be more disgusted with society. anyhow, moving on to brighter things.

actually i don't reallly have much else to say. classes are alright. break was good, but it went by way too fast. ...that's about all. wow. i was expecting this post to be a lot longer. guess i'm not too exciting lately :)

organizations! woo!
first of all, exciting news: i am now an honor student in my areas of study! i am (almost) officially a member of phi alpha theta, the history honor society (induction hasn't happened yet, but i've already paid dues and everything), and i am becoming a member of the cultural and societal honor society as well. wooo hoo!

as for spanish club, i'm working my way through it. we're planning some fundraisers, so that should be interesting. i still can't wait to be done with it, though. it just feels like one more thing to worry about that i really just don't need. but it'll be okay. it's not a huge time commitment.

amnesty. amnesty, amnesty, what can i say about thee? it's getting really frustrating to go to. i don't mean to sound like a total downer because usually amnesty is what keeps me happy, but maybe the fact that we're actually planning events is causing an issue here. because we talk about things a lot. but we never decide on anything. the hunger banquet is the tuesday after break, and we're still trying to get details ironed out. i don't want to bitch too much, but it's irritating kate and i considerably. hopefully things will get better.

that's all i have to say about my organizations. in the next installment, i will inform you of the love holiday, snowpocalypse 2013, and my week without a phone. this should be a more exciting post. wheee!

my life is insane.

WOW has it been a long time. i am SO behind on this and i am really sorry. i meant to post, like, two weeks ago. two? three? i don't even remember. but a lot has happened so i'm going to do this in installments.

my life has been super crazy. (like you didn't get that based on the title of this post). anyhow. just letting you know. i plan on getting my life story since the end of january up here on the internet for you within the next week. but this is also midterm week, so don't get too upset if it doesn't happen. wow, i'm good at guarantees. i'll start working on the first one now..
