insanity

hey, sorry it's been so long. i meant to update over thanksgiving weekend, but that didn't happen and i've just been busy and exhausted since then. but i actually have a bit of time today, so here you go.
*****
as you are probably aware if you've seen my recent facebook updates, i am a bit sick. my throat started hurting last friday and it became really painful to swallow. i went to the urgent care center on sunday and found out that i have tonsillitis, an upper respiratory infection, and acute something else. so the doctor prescribed me a lot of drugs. the positive: my throat doesn't hurt anymore. the negative: i am SO EXHAUSTED. no matter how much sleep i get, i feel just as tired as ever. so i hope i get better soon. good news, though: today is my last day of taking a steroid! those are really chalky and leave THE WORST aftertaste. still on antibiotics, though. and pain killers. and an inhaler. i'll let you know how this turns out.

this is probably the worst time to be sick. finals are next week. i have three tests to study for and three papers to do (i've already started two of them, but i have a significant amount of adding and editing to do). so my extreme fatigue is not conducive to my workload. i'll plow through. somehow.

on the bright side, spanish club's last meeting of the semester was last week so i have one less thing to worry about these next few weeks. i will not miss that over break.
*****
speaking of spanish things, I GOT ACCEPTED TO THE SPAIN PROGRAM!!! i'll be studying abroad in salamanca for eight weeks this summer! WOO! that means i get my minor done WAY faster. I'M SO EXCITED!!!

and speaking of exciting things, amnesty had elections for next semester's exec board, and i got elected secretary! yay! i'm very excited about this. i love amnesty. we have such a good group.

it's throwback thursday (apparently this is a thing on twitter), so waaaay back at the beginning of november i went to visit kaitlin, one of my best friends from high school, in columbia over a weekend. it. was. awesome. i loved getting out of boring kirksville. we ate at chipotle and ihop and goodcents and it was beautiful. also, we saw the film adaption of the perks of being a wallflower, which is my favorite book. it was SO GOOD. i recommend it (the book and the movie).
*****
that's all the excitement i have for now. i might post again once i'm home for break to let you know how everything went at the end of the semester. otherwise, i'll meet you back here in january!
