only another week of classes and then finals week and then home! who's excited? this girl.

speaking of finals week, i am so upset with my finals schedule. my spanish teacher gave us the option of having either another unit test or a comprehensive final, so we obviously chose the former, which means no spanish final. my history teacher is giving us a take home test for our final, so i don't have a history final to physically go to, either (we're turning it in via email). sounds great, right? wrong. that leaves geography and math. which i don't mind. but my geography final is scheduled for monday morning and my math final is on friday. which means i'll be sitting around for three days with nothing to do. i could be leaving earlier. but no. i have to have a stupid math final on friday. grr.

and since we're on the topic of ranting about things of an academic nature, this paper that i have to write for history is just stupid. i worked so hard on the IA (internal assessment) in IB history last year. it was such an involved paper. and this paper that i'm currently working on is like a HUGE step back. plus i'm pretty sure my teacher's expectations aren't very high. i just feel like i got so far with my ability to write a paper last year and now that effort is being completely undermined by this stupid paper. ugh. i'll stop ranting now. sorry about that.

so this past weekend, we did some exciting and fun things. last week, kate decided she wanted to have an aladdin marathon, since between the two of us we have all three movies. so we planned that for friday. but we got it started kinda late, and by the time we finished The Return of Jafar, we were too tired to watch King of Thieves. so we've yet to actually watch that one. Return of Jafar is pretty low quality, by the way. in case anyone was wondering.

then on saturday, kate went home to house-sit her house while her mom showed dogs out of town and sam, danielle, and i went to this thing the newman center puts on every semester called coffeehouse. they had coffee and milkshakes (which were delicious) available to buy, and people who signed up as well as some of the a capella groups on campus performed. it was really good.

so looking ahead to next semester. i looked up all my books that i'm going to need, and not including three that i already have, i'm going to need eleven books. i'm taking six classes. and i need eleven books! it's going to be expensive, folks. if anyone knows of a super cheap place to acquire textbooks, please let me know.

that's all i have for this past week. i will most certainly be updating you again next week, since i'll have nothing better to do tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. (and not to worry, mother. i'll study for that math exam. but not for three straight days.)
